Before I broke my older TV, I was able to mirror from my iPhone with an HDMI adaptor for subscriptionn movie streaming but cannot do so with my newer TV. I've also tried using the screen mirroring but can't connect to my TV and even if I mirror to my MacBook, I get the same incompatibility messages that occured when using the HDMI with my newer TV.

I have the same problem man i connect my phone with air play and i can’t whatch nothing bc it disconnected automatically
Thank you. I am guessing that the subscription services such as Amazon and Netflix added a copyright handshake that now interferes with mirroring to a larger screen. I get "not compatible" type messages even when using mirroring from my iphone to a macbook. I used an HDMI adaptor with my older TV last year but that doesn't work on my newer TV. It seems I will just have to view from my cell phone screen for some movie apps.
I can mirror my phone screen and play PBS movies but not Amazon Prime or Netflix. I think not allowing to mirror to a larger screen has to do with more insidious intent than just copyright protection.
I will add that I do not have Wi-Fi. Just cell phone and limited hotspot data.
