VHS Tape to Digital Conversion on M4 iMac

I’m looking for recommendations pertaining to any third-party hardware/software that would convert VHS tapes to digital format on my new M4 iMac. I know when you go on the Internet there are hardware and software accommodations from the $35 range to in excess of $300. I would assume the basic difference is the amount of upscaling and detail in the final digital conversion. If anyone has any recommendation on what has worked well for them, including the ease of use, I would very much appreciate it. Thank you very much.
