Music app on Mac - Sorting Artists' Albums by Year (Ascending) scrambles track order

When I go to the "Artists" tab in my Library in the Music app on Mac and try to sort the list of albums for All Artists by Year in Ascending order, the track listings for some albums get scrambled. For example, my first two "Black Sabbath" albums get their first tracks moved to the previous album, and the first track on the first album goes missing altogether (in my example below, I show where the mislaid tracks should be in blue). But if I sort them by Title (Ascending), the tracks go back to their correct album. And this only seems to happen on any artist I have marked as "Favorite."

Grr, I have to exit and relaunch Music for it to actually switch between the Title and Year sort orders, but when I do so the Year sort order is making sense. There are minor differences in the track listings due to different releases, but track 1 of Paranoid is War Pigs/Luke's Wall and track 1 of Master Of Reality is Sweet Leaf.

Why that's not the case for you is a mystery. Are these tracks in .mp3 format? There is a fairly obscure bug with mp3 files that have multiple tags where iTunes/Music may only edit/update one of them, but can occasionally read data from the other, which can sometimes trigger odd behaviours. I doubt it is involved here, but it is the only mechanism I can think of offhand that might be an explanation. See Repair security permissions for iTunes/Music for Mac - Apple Community for background.
