Apple Music app cannot connect to Google Nest home speakers

Someone may have a solution for this connectivity issue.

I called Google, and they said this was an issue with Apple, not them.

I selected Apple Music as the default music app on the Google Home app. If I ask the Nest speakers to play music, it does so from Apple Music.

The issue is this: I select a song on the Apple Music app on my iPod or iPad. However, it only plays on Apple devices, and there is no option for the song playing to connect on the Google Nest speakers.
