Microsoft SharePoint requests keychain access but unable to find password

Hi - I had exactly the same problem and when I called Apple and Microsoft, they both blamed each other but wouldn't help me.

I pay for Office 365 for Mac, but that does not include Sharepoint and I had no idea what it was so the whole thing was very weird. And, so very very frustrating - I tried so many resolutions that I read about in forums like this.

Eventually, one method was successful - I deleted all the Microsoft applications off my Mac (Powerpoint, Word, Excel etc). As I have paid a subscription, I could then log back into Microsoft and re-install them all again. It worked! I have been waiting to double check that it has truly resolved before posting this, but now, a month later, I feel confident enough to pass this tip along! So, delete the applications, restart your computer, sign into Microsoft and reload the applications again - it hasn't impacted any saved documents in those applications and it's a relief not to have that darn Sharepoint box popping up multiple times a day. What is happening is that it appears that you are trying to access a Microsoft SharePoint. In order to do so, you need to provide your SharePoint user credentials (username & password).

This message is assuming that you have them stored (at least the password part) in your macOS KeyChain, and is asking your permission, to access it.

I don't use Share Point at all but several times a day I get a keychain popup requesting access. Unfortunately there's no option for "always deny" so I have to click it throughout the day. I'm not sure why this suddenly started popping up. I've checked my keychain and it's not in there so I can't delete it. I have no idea how to stop Share Point from requesting access. I'm tempted to grant it just so it'll stop annoying me. If I didn't know better, I'd say it was a virus.

I am NOT trying to access Share Point and I don't have an account with them, at least not one that I've used in years. So how can I get this to stop?
