Why can’t I reply to a thread here?

This banner:

means the thread has been locked for inactivity or age (usually about three months). Also, in my long tenure here I have seen very few posters who come back weeks or months later to look for new answers to their threads.

If you come here from a search engine, you will see far too many of those banners. Search engines are not conducive to effectively helping here.

Choose topic areas where you feel you can best help.

Use the site map links to go directly to those topics lists

Work the first few pages with the newest posts.

That give posters the most current information, and they can recognize your contributions with an upvote.

As mentioned, if it's old enough it may be locked and no more replies are allowed.
