My iPhone 12 does not turn on or when it seems to turn on, it's frozen with large circled numeral.

The screen of the iPhone does not show bars, wifi, battery %, or time. The screen does not respond to touch.

When it seems to turn on, only the large * in one partial action-space bar and another bar below show S O S.

I've tried pressing, quick release of two volume controls and pressing rt, side button but same response of above.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hello,

Try these steps:

Press and quickly release the volume up button.
Press and quickly release the volume down button.
Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo (could be as long as 30 seconds)
