Cannot add songs to Apple Music Playlists.

If I am listening to my paid subscription to Apple Music and attempt to add a song to a playlist I get a warning. “Cloud Music Library can only contain songs from your cloud music library.” It goes on to say if I continue then the playlist I’m simply trying to add a song to will only be available on this device” (Mac)

Now, I used the shortcuts app to easily add music from Apples “Pure Focus” playlist to my personal focus favorites list. That will not work with “add to playlist” or “get current song” and then “add to playlist.”

This no longer works. I got an error message in red in my Mac when I deleted and rebuilt the shortcut. If anyone can help me understand this I’d love the help. I have struggled with Apple Music since the MacBook Pro purchase in August. I would prefer to stick with the native app rather than switch to another service. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I know shortcuts are a separate question but felt it important to add that I tried that as a workaround and it no longer works at all.
