How do I switch the alarm off once it has started ringing

Hi, I am using an iPhone 15 Max Pro and iOS 18.

In the past, I would set an alarm and when it went off the next day. I would look at my display and could see a high red button saying STOP which I could click on.

There was even a SNOOZE button that I could choose if I wanted to sleep a bit longer.

Now that doesn’t appear anymore. All I get is a small banner at the top of my screen that I cannot stop or do anything with it. What’s going on? How do I bring back the old features?

Thanks for any help?

What feature/display or accessibility did you recently change? That is the cause of the issue, revert what you did and it should give you the both options.

I did not change anything.

The Sleep function in my Health App is not active. It never was. Why am I being asked to set it up??

Today my alarm was so quiet that I did not hear it. First time ever.

I don’t use the alarm daily, but about a week ago it worked as usual.

I read all the various tips about Sound and haptics settings. Nothing helps.

One of our group members posted this in one of our threads about alarm see if the steps below helps.

"I saw a report in a newspaper that many iOS 18.2.1 users are complaining that the Snooze function of the alarm app doesn’t work. I tested on my 18.3 and it worked, but I then went to my wife’s 18.2.1 and I could duplicate the problem.

If you have an existing alarm with snooze enabled it continues to work, but if you turn it off you can’t turn it back on.

The workaround is to delete the alarm and recreate it with Snooze on.

Keep in mind when answering posts about alarm problems."
