iPhone SIM card incompatibility issue

I bought an iPhone, but the phone is probably not SIM-independent and won't let me insert a SIM card from another carrier.

To be able to use any SIM across the globe you must have "No SIM Restriction" against Network Provider Lock. Please refer to the pic below.
