Music App for Mac shows multiple duplicates for the same files

My Music app on Mac is showing duplicates for many songs. When I remove/delete the duplicates (but leave one in place), once I've emptied the trash, the song is no longer available at all and is nowhere to be found on the system (Macintosh HD or any attached HDDs)

Music disappeared from Music app on desktop I just noticed all the songs from an album consisting of 4 CDs that I ripped on this Mac Studio 6 months ago have disappeared from the Music app library. When I search in Music app by the name of the artist or the name of the album, the songs do not show up, but when I look on the computer, in that artists folder in my music library, I see all four folders of songs, 47 different files, so they are still there. I have no idea if Music has lost other music, until I find another instance of it. Any ideas why this happened, and may still be happening? Any way to find “missing” songs that Music has deleted? Music app 1.4.6.32, Mac Studio Sonoma 14.6.1.

Apple Music playing a different song then selected When I select a song from a list in Apple Music a song further down the list will play. Subsequently all songs from the one I picked to the one playing will do the same thing. This has happened to a number of different songs at different positions in the list. If I delete one of the songs that will not play correctly and import it again, it will work. I have hundreds of songs and it seems to be doing this to a large number. This is occurring on a Mac mini and has had a software upgrade and still doing it. Current version is Sonoma Version 14.0 Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Apple Music Showing Duplicated Albums on macOS For several months I've noticed that albums saved from Apple Music to Mac sometimes get duplicated and the songs divided between them. I have not made any edits to the metadata and on my iPhone the albums show correctly. I believe that for some reason macOS is not identifying songs with more than one artist as part of the same album even if they are in Apple Music. This is very inconvenient because I'm not able to listen to an entire album, as songs are divided between two separate duplicated albums on Mac. My Mac is up to date on Sonoma 14.5 at the moment.

See Duplicate songs in iTunes/Music - Apple Community. In some cases two or more entries in the database can be connected to the same physical file on the drive. Deleting excess entries and allowing the underlying file to be deleted breaks the remaining track. Backup before attempting to dedupe, and proceed with caution.
