Please back up and explain for the less experienced and give some examples of DNS requests and how we can discover which DNS requests have been made. Also, who is the owner of a network. I use my iPhone at home using my own internet service through AT&T. Am I the owner of my network?

Thank you sincerely for your consideration of this request.

DNS = Domain Name Service.

This is what converts the human readable name or URL for a web site, server, or other device on either a local network or the public Internet into routable numeric IP address.

(This is an oversimplification, but it's good enough.

If you type an URL (like apple.com) into the address bar of your browser, or click on a link or shortcut, a DNS request is made that converts the URL to an address so that the destination can be reached.
