Input monitoring and recording issues in Logic Pro

Hello,

Randomly starting today I can no longer see the green levels of my input without either having input monitoring or record enable selected. When these are selected I can see the input levels and also hear the live playback.

I am also forced to hear the live playback when recording even when input monitoring is disabled. This is not how it used to work before today and is pretty frustrating.

I know this is most likely some setting within logic since I opened garageband and it was working perfectly normal. I've tried searching and changing many different settings however and cannot fix the issue (such as checking Software monitoring is checked).

Any help is appreciated.
