It also needs to be pointed out that the ban on TikTok HAS NOT BEEN LIFTED. The current administration has extended the deadline for enforcement of the law for 75 days (mid-March) in hopes a deal can be made with ByteDance. China has stated over and over again that ByteDance will not sell itself to an American company.

So the joy of having TikTok back in the App Store may be short lived. Please keep that in mind.

This is a user-to-user forum. Those that work for Apple may or may not read postings around here.

That app is not returning in the US until after US law changes:

Why not? The fines for violations of this act are “ruinous”, to quote a US Senator.

What Apple states about this:

Apple did not pass the law banning TikTok, that was done by Congress and upheld by the Supreme Court..

  • Do you know who your Representatives are and how they voted?
  • Have you been in contact with them?
  • If you are too young to vote, now is a great time to understand how bills become laws and why voting matters

Tencent Holdings, the vendor of TikTok, PUBG, and other apps, is presently banned in the US.

Tencent does not own TikTok owner ByteDance. According to an article by The Information, Tencent bought a less than 2% stake in ByteDance in 2016. However, it has since sold that stake. Tencent did buy two of ByteDance's video game units in 2024 to bolster its gaming business.
