I am running it on both my iphone and imac and it has worked fine for years. but it has now been five days since it has updated on those who want to know where i am. i've checked to make sure the share my location is on.

If Person A stops sharing their location with Person B on Find My, Person B will not be notified directly that Person A has made this change. The location will simply no longer appear for Person B in the Find My app, and they won't be alerted with a notification or message. Do you see a message as “Location Expired” popup message is most commonly associated with Apple’s Find My app. It appears when a Person A has shared their location with a Person B, but the location-sharing session has ended or is no longer active either on Person A's device or Person B's device.
This can happen for several reasons:
sorry, i should have been more detailed. when i looked they all had the status of sharing; thus i was able to stop sharing before resharing. still not clear to me why with the status of sharing on, they were not getting updated. i just know that it all works fine right now.
i took the time to individually STOP SHARING with each family member then immediately START SHARING. they got their notifications, accepted, and now all is well. thank you
