iphone 16 pro max ultra wide camera gives a yellowish tint

I recently upgraded from Xs Max to 16 pro max. The ultra wide camera on my new iPhone has some specks of dust in it from factory and gives a yellowish tint which you can see it goes from Fusion Camera to macro camera. Also the ultra wide camera has very poor quality in my opinion ( I don’t have other iPhones available at hand to compare to but it’s quite grainy). I did compare it to a 15 pro max which didn’t give the yellowish tint. I am sorry if my english was bad or if I used any wrong terminologies. Kindly help out a friend

What happening is iPhones only have Auto White Balance (AWB) and do not have the ability to set WB before making a photo.

The size of the hand in each image is influencing the WB sensor and therefore color temperature and tint of each photo. If you reshoot the ultra wide camera shot so the size of the hands are closer in size, I suspect the colors will be closer.

It could be a firmware/software issue that Apple may adjust in future updates. Each camera is a separate unit and has separate AWB sensors.

If users don’t report their experiences with the products, Apple will never know. I’d suggest discussing with Apple Support and opening a support ticket so the issue gets escalated to engineering. You can also leave feedback for Apple at the link below.

Dust on the sensor is a manufacturing defect. Have you considered getting the camera module replaced?
