How can I use Apple Watch with Strava app while running?

Hello,

I have an Apple Watch 10 and I use it for running mainly using the Strava app.

I used to use Strava on my phone which would gladly update me on mileage whilst I also listened to a podcast or music. It would run alongside the other apps.

using the app via the watch though means I can’t currently listen to anything other than the app open on the watch.

is there a way I can listen to music and still have the prompts via the watch?. Not sure if this is an app, watch or settings issue.
