iPad/iPhone remote connection to OSX Monterey applications

Is it possible to connect to and control an Apple OSX machine from an iPad or iPhone via a remote connection over the Internet ie. not on the same WIFI. If so, which software would support this type of connection?

Hi Thank your for answering but I'm sorry, I don't see your detailed response. Please note: I am looking for a solution that works remotely via the internet and NOT for 2 devices on the same WIFI network.
