Canon MG6250 was unable to install driver on new iMac 24

I was pulling my hair out trying to install the Canon driver after my 2011 iMac stopped working and I was forced to buy a new iMac 24.

I was Advised by a technician to buy a C to A apple adaptor, plug this into your usb canon MG6250 printer.

open finder, open image capture and my printer/scanner is working.

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.12

You shouldn't have to install anything on your new Mac for this printer. It is an AirPrint printer (see About AirPrint - Apple Support).

Just add it to your Wi-Fi network and follow the steps under Add a Wi-Fi or network printer in Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac - Apple Support.
