Files in a Notes Folder disappeared

I was scrolling back and forth fast in a Notes folder and more than half the files disappeared. I checked immediately in the Recently Deleted Folder on my phone and online. There was no Recently Deleted Folder. I deleted one file and the Recently Deleted folder appeared with the one file I just deleted. I rebooted the iphone and still the files are missing. What is the next procedure to recover files in a Folder in notes that disappeared while scrolling. Thanks.
