Pinned tabs not shrinking in new Safari tab group

I created a new tab group and I pinned some websites, so that they would shrink and only be displayed as icons. In this new tab group, the pinned tabs do not shrink and remain normal sized. There seem to be no settings for this, therefore it must be a bug?
