iPod Classic not detected by iTunes on Windows 10

I have just opened a brand new iPod classic.

After plugging it into my computer, it once had a popup that said I did not have the right drivers and to click to download them. I did that, and nothing seems to have changed.

I am using iTunes from the Windows store, as I did not see a web based download available.

Itunes says my iPod is corrupt, but I have factory reset it to no avail.

Where can I download the correct drivers to see if that will work?

I have forced the iPod into disc mode to no avail.

What can be done to use the iPod? I am leaving for a trip on the 21st and likely do not have time to order any adapters or other options that will take time.

Thank you
