Inhouse distributions apps stopped working after upgrading to version to iOS 18.2.1.

My issue all is inhouse distributions apps

stopped working after upgrading to version 18.2.1.  This has happened on multiple iPhones.

If we had in-house applications on our version 18.1

iPhone, then updated to version 18.2.1, they app would not work. We deleted the

app and the Enterprise App trust was gone.

Then we installed a new version of the app.  The phone did not prompt us to trust the Enterprise

app again and the app it would open for a second then close.  The app is back in the Enterprise App Trust

without prompting to trust it.

I believe when the app was deleted the Enterprise

App was deleted, it’s not actually deleting it correctly, because it comeback without

when an prompting, or reinstalling/restarting the phone.

Whether the problem is a bug in the new version of iOS, or a bug in the app exposed by running it under the new version of iOS, I would think you would want to go back to the in-house IT developers who wrote the app.

They should be better equipped to troubleshoot problems involving their own app than people on a forum who have no way of running, testing, or debugging the app in question.

It's not always the iOS update's fault!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

  1. Is this your corporate/organization/enterprise/School Management iPhone? Then please contact the system administrator of your corporate//organisation/enterprise/School Management
  2. If it is your device, in that case, do you have any profile installed by your corporate/organisation/enterprise/School Management?
    1. Erase the profile added by you If you have installed a profile on your own --> Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone - Apple ...
    2. Please contact the system administrator of the organisation who provided the profile to you

A corporate profile installed on your iPhone could potentially be contributing to in-house applications quitting unexpectedly. Here's why:

  • Restrictions: Corporate profiles can have restrictions placed on apps and functionalities. These restrictions might be limiting background activity for Maps, causing it to quit when minimized.
  • Managed Apps: IT departments might deploy specific navigation apps through the profile, potentially conflicting with in-house applications.
  • Security Settings: Corporate profiles often have stricter security settings that could affect app behavior. This might be causing unexpected shutdowns for in-house applications.

Here's what you can do:

  • Check with IT: The best course of action is to contact your IT department. They can explain the restrictions set by the corporate profile and see if in-house applications are affected. They might be able to adjust settings or suggest alternative navigation apps approved for corporate use.
  • Look for App Conflicts: See if your IT department uses a different navigation app through the corporate profile.Conflicting apps might cause crashes.

Additional points to consider:

  • Even if the profile isn't directly affecting in-house applications, it's still a good idea to check with IT. They might be aware of similar issues and have workarounds.
  • While troubleshooting, make sure you prioritize safety of data.

By working with IT and considering these possibilities, you can hopefully identify if the corporate profile is the culprit and find a solution that allows you to use in-house applications safely.

I am one of the developers. This issue is with all our enterprise apps. All apps worked on version 18.1. For the few users that updated to 18.2.1 it stopped working after the update.

I have a phone the got 18.2.1 installed before I added any enterprise apps, they work fine.

So the issue is you have enterprise apps, update to 18.2.1 they stop working. Removing the app, and the trust, then installing again doesn't solve the issue.

We had about a dozen phone call with this issue. We have been able to fix all but three. This is the process to get it to re-trust:

Steps to Resolve:

Deleted the trusted app(s) from the TRUST screen:

Settings > General > VPN & Devices ---- Select App and Delete

Hard Reset phone:

Tap volume up once

Tap Volume down once

Hold power and turn off

Restart phone

download the App

Launch App

APP SHOULD ASK TO TRUST.

Go to Settings > General . VPN & Devices and trust app

Phone will auto-restart

Accept Profile

Launch App - should go to login screen as expected
