confusion over variety on names on apple machines

I have three Apple devices, aiphone, iPhone an old iMac and a new iMac. There seem to be a variety of names and I'm not sure of their significance in each one has may have a different password the names of which I am from where where are an Apple id, a host name ( in what way is this different. from the name of a computer?) ;a computer name. (identifies which imac I an using ;a user name. (login name?). When I attend a zoom meeting it shows , I think , the computer name. or the name. of my home.folder. I would like to change as it is inappropriate. as a participant in a zoom meeting . I wish to change it to my forename. and initial. EWhy are there so many. names and what. does. each. signify

If you are just looking to change your Zoom username you can do that here:

Every service/app will allow you to use any name that has not already been taken. Your computer does have a name at  > System Settings > General > About > Name. This will show when looking up the device in Find My or when using AirDrop to identify that specific computer.

Each computer can have a number of different Users as well. This is the name of the Home folder and may also be a default name used by some apps, if you do not choose to use another one. Each User on your Mac will have their own Username and Password to log into the computer and keeps the data separate from any other users. If you want to change this Username and also the name of the Home folder, you can do that here:
