Syncing Messages Across All Devices, NOT

I did find a lot of old threads, all now closed, that spotlight this issue. Now this isn't an everyday occurance, but has happened several times. My main concern is between my 18.2.1 iPad and my 15.2 M4 mini. Every now and then, I look at it on my desktop and messages I write on the iPad are not transferred over. Yes I have it iCloud synced everywhere. The supposed "trick" of going into Messages settings and use the "Sync Now" button. Just tried that, didn't work, there is several posts made on the iPad that are NOT coming over to the desktop.

I did make another post on my iPad while my desktop was running and NOW see the previous messages show up on my desktop. I consider this a bug that Apple needs to fix. I'm posting to see if other run into the same issue. After 18 major iOS upgrades and 15 macOS, this should NOT be happening.

Thanks for posting. Rarely do I search Apple Communities as see a same day, active post. Having the same problem with Mac 15.2 and iPhone 18.2.1. Tried manual sync on phone but doesn’t sync with Mac. Mac keeps pausing cloud sync. Also searched online for solutions and tried recommendations. Hope we get a fix soon.

It was messages I wrote on the iPad that weren't syncing... trying a force sync did nothing. What kinda solved the issue was writing another note on the iPad while my desktop was logged in brought the half dozen or so messages that didn't sync to start off with to my desktop.

I have this problem, also, with iMessages I send on my 18.2.1 iPad not syncing to 15.1.1 M1 Mac mini. I had a very long session 12/4/2024 online with an Apple tech expert who was very knowledgeable, ran through everything, and was positive she had solved the problem. But unfortunately the problem wasn't corrected. The Messages in iCloud window for my Mac is still stuck on 0 message In iCloud and clicking the Sync Now button does nothing.

I haven't contacted Apple support again because I've seen multiple people report it and Apple must know by now that it's a bug--I'm just waiting for them to fix it.

Me too. I have M1 iMac and iPhone 16Plus. I've had four sessions with Apple Tech including reinstalling the IMac OS, all to no avail.

I keep hoping every update will fix it. It started for me OS15 update.

Messages App stalls, won't close, won't open, won't send messages.

My wife and kids login in same IMac don't have the problem, so I was sure it's a setting somewhere but I can't find it

If anyone makes any progress, please update here

Keep not holding your breath...Slowly but surely, the promised performance of Apple devices is degrading - " ease of use has been declining at least as long.

For me, a text message I received immediately on my iPhone may not appear till the next day, creating a very misleading thread order. The main body of a text I sent on one device didn't appear for hours although shorter messages in that convo appeared in timely fashion.

And it won't really surprise me if this report never appears in Communities.

I ended up restarting all devices that sync to Messages. Which barely helped. Then with the subsequent version updates, the sync occurred and over the next few days Messages on 15pro and macbook M1 slowly “healed" and sync’d.

As of today, phone mirroring works for Messages, sync between phone and macbook works okay but doesn’t sync Send Later texts.

Agree, hope Apple has enough feedback from Community and customer support calls to finally fix syncing Messages in next macOS and iOS updates.
