Importing folders and subfolders to Music?
I have a lot of music on macOS in folders and subfolders. How can I easily add them to Apple Music to keep their hierarchy?

I have a lot of music on macOS in folders and subfolders. How can I easily add them to Apple Music to keep their hierarchy?

Apple Music pays no attention to folder hierarchy, the only thing that counts is metadata. If metadata is missing the the file name will be taken as a track name, and the track will be assigned to Unknown Artist, Unknown Album. That said, you might try this script https://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=mxdroptoaddnmake which appears to be able to create nested folders and playlists representing the folder hierarchy of the dropped tracks. Make sure to turn off Keep Organized/Copy Files as appropriate so that Music doesn't move or copy your content as it is added to the library.
