Apple keyboard keeps losing connection

I have an apple keyboard that has worked fine until yesterday. Yesterday, I came into my office and it wasn't working. I switched the batteries to see if that would work, but it did not. So, I deleted it from my bluetooth devices and I was able to reconnect it. However, I move my laptop around and leave my mouse and keyboard on my desk. Everytime I went out of reach of the keyboard and it was disconnected, it would reconnect to the computer. I have had to delete it and rediscover it each time, which is annoying. Are there any fixes for this? Thank you.
