How to preserve highlights, bookmarks and notes in Books app?

Is it possible to preserve bookmarks, highlights and notes for an ebook in Books app when particular ebook version is upgraded? Transfer them somehow from old version of ebook to an upgraded one?

Books on Apple Books are missing I download PDFs of books or articles online and I like reading them on Apple Books since I can highlight things and add annotations that are saved to both my laptop and phone. Today I tried opening a book and noticed that all of my books and PDFs were gone. I looked at the original downloaded PDFs in my files and all of the highlights and annotations are gone. I am doing research so this is very inconvenient, I cant just lose all that work. What happened and how can I get the highlights back?

Deleting epub book permanently from app / ipad I use ebooks reader to read epub book that I downloaded from various sites on to my ebook reader app on my ipad. The problem I have is that I can’t delete any books. I got to library-edit- select books- delete and confirm - like I’m supposed to. The book look like they’ve been deleted but when I open the app back up the deleted book reappear. Where are the books stored on the app or iPad so I can find a different way to delete the books I’ve read as there is now to many books it’s getting confusing. please help as tried researching but nothing.

Link to PDF which is stored in Apple Books? I sometimes want to link to a PDF document that I have saved in Apple Books. E.g.: I have a note or a reminder in which I want to refer to a pdf document which itself is stored in the books app. Clicking on the link would then open the PDF within the books app. Is there really no way how I can achieve this? (Mac or iPhone)
