How to track iPhone owner with IMEI number?

Hello~ I am of the same opinion as *Mac Jim ID* you need to turn that device over to law enforcement as the owner can see exactly where the iPhones is with Find My.

The original owner can still track the iPhone with FindMy turned on, so they know exactly where it is. That is why it is best to use a nearby Lost & Found or Police Station, as you do not always want them to be knocking on your door or tracking your location whenever you have the device in your possession.

We aren't allowed to post personal information on these forums, so you wouldn't find the owner here. Also we are a user-to-user forum, not Apple, so neither can we locate the owner.

Try seeing if there is any information about the owner in the Medical ID, so you can possibly reach the owner to return their iPhone. Apart from that, there isn't much else you can do. I would suggest leaving it at a lost and found or a police station where the owners can see the location and pick their iPhone up.

Turn the phone over to the police – or, if it was found in a place such as an indoor shopping mall, to the Lost & Found Department there.

Apple used to have a service where you could send in a found iPhone, but apparently that no longer exists.

You can see if the owner has left a message that should appear on the iPhone if you try activating it.

Otherwise you are left with conventional methods of dealing with fund possessions such as turning it in to the police or a lost and found service.

In addition, your carrier is the only one that can track your iPhone with the IMEI number, but they will only do so with a court order or when someone's life is in imminent danger.
