How can I tell if my MagSafe wallet is real or fake?

Was wondering if I purchased a fake MagSafe wallet. When I attached it for the first time it recognized it and added it to my Find My but it doesn’t notify me when detached. I haven’t left it behind yet to see if it notifies me of that but it just seems…. Off. Like maybe I bought a fake one.

Did you buy it directly from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller ... or from some other third-party source?

Assuming that it is real, use the following support article to double-check you added the Wallet to Find My properly:

Then there's a good chance that this is either a fake or that it is defective.

If you have already read both articles I provided you, you will also note that Find My may not be available in every country or region world-wide.

Assuming that you do not reside in any of those countries, did you actually verify that this Wallet got associated with your Apple ID? That is, does it show up on the Devices tab of the Find My app on your iPhone? Speaking of iPhones, did you also verify that your iPhone model is supported? Also what case you use with your phone may pose an issue. Basically, it works with the leather or silicon cases for the iPhone 12 models OR with the iPhone 13 clear case.
