MacBook Pro 16-inch (2021) – Blooming, Motion Trails, not-very-smooth scrolling: Is This Normal?
Model: MacBook Pro 16-inch (2021), M1 Pro chip
Issues:
Blooming Effect: Noticeable around bright elements (e.g., white text, cursor) on dark backgrounds.
Motion Trails: Greenish trails during scrolling or moving objects.
Scrolling Stutters: Even at 120Hz ProMotion, scrolling lacks smoothness (tested on compatible browsers like Chrome).
Actions Taken:
I contacted the seller (iSpace in Yerevan, Armenia), an Apple Premium Reseller, and they conducted a diagnostic test using Apple's internal software. They claimed that the results are accessible to Apple directly and concluded the display is functioning as expected.
However, they did not test the issues in appropriate conditions (e.g., dark room, real-world scenarios). They also skipped visual display tests that were visibly available in their diagnostics tool. My concerns about the visual issues were dismissed.
Additional Concern:
Apple’s coverage check does not display the purchase date for this device, raising questions about its authenticity. While I understand there may be reasons other than being refurbished, this still adds to my doubts about the device.
Questions:
Have other users experienced similar issues with their MacBook Pro (2021)?
Is this behavior (blooming, motion trails, scrolling stutters) considered normal for this model?
I’ve recorded videos of the issues to better demonstrate what I’m seeing.

Your input would be incredibly helpful.
Thank you in advance!
