Apple Intelligence Image Playground not letting me select my own photos

When I select an image collections in Image Playground, I can't select any images.

Recreating the issue:

Click the rainbow image icon in the bottom right corner
Select Choose Photo
Click on Days in the left sidebar (the issue happens with other categories too)
Click on a photo preview for a date that shows photos exist on that date
The UI displays "No Photos or Videos"

OS: 15.2 (24C101)

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 15.2

Image Playground cannot access my photos on one mac but can on the other I tried Image Playground on an M1 Max Mac Studio and it was able to use my Photos library. However, on my M4 Pro MBP it cannot. Both Macs are running Sequoia 15.2. I tried turning Apple Intelligence off and on a few times. There are plenty of persons and pets in my Photos library, and they do appear on the Mac Studio, but on the MBP all I get is this: Any suggestions? TIA

what happened to the menu in photos app My Photos menu is suddenly different when I open it. There is no more Library at the top of the menu. The top item is Memories, then People, then Places (and then others). At the top of the app there used to be Days, Months, Years to help one get to a specific date easily. No more. Now it just shows how many photos and videos I have. None of these menu items are helpful to me, as I just want to sort by date and get to a photo easily by date. What happened and how do I change it back?
