Can't Open Shared Files from Program

I have two Mac Minis. I have enabled sharing and the files and folders are visible and accessible from the finder. However, when I try to access the files from a program, the shared files are not showing up and the other Mac Mini is not visible. What's going on? I'm on Sequoia 15.1.

“I'm also not seeing my connection from Chrome. It seems like my connection to the shared files and folders is random depending on the program. Below are screen captures from Word and from Vectorworks. One shows access to the shared Mac Mini, the other one doesn't.

Opening Files:

Looking at your second screenshot, you can see the file types it is trying to see.

Turn Off File Sharing and then Back On.

Find Out to Here:

Update your Macs:

Back Up your Mac First:  Be certain you Create a Time Machine Backup of your Mac, so that way you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reconfiguration.

C. Have the Correct App:

If you want to open a certain filetype, then you'll need to have an app that is cable and able to open it.

"Thank you for asking which program. It appears that I can see the other Mac when trying to open from Word or Preview but I can't see it when trying to open from Vectorworks, which is a CAD program. It appears that it may be a program issue?"

You are welcome.

Opening a File:

Not all files an be opened as document-type of files in document editors (i.e. MS Word). So, I would put a post on Microsoft Community, being MS Word is taking a role here. Use this Link: Word | Microsoft Community Hub
