I am asked to enter my password for (null) and then a confirmation gets sent to some turkish email?

I tried resetting my mac today and was asked to enter a password for (null) and then my request was sent to some turkish email although I have nothing to do with turkey at all and this is most definitely NOT my email. Did you just give some random stranger the power to reset my email and password? This is a BRAND NEW Mac Mini M4. Arrived today.
