Unreadable EPUB Light Gray Text

This is from a prior thread on this subject. I just got my new Ipad running the latest IOS firmware.

My question is the same as the one in the prior thread that did not seem to get answered.

"Am I the only person annoyed at Apple's IPhone design team determining that light gray text on a white background is better for legibility? What were they thinking!!"

I read my first book and it was fine with Black text. When I opened my second book I got the light gray text on a white background which is unreadable. I have tried everything suggested in the prior thread, but still have light gray text on a white background. If I switch to black the letters are still unreadable. This seems to be a long running problem with Apple. Almost sorry I bought the Ipad.

Could there be a setting in the Epub? And, if so, how to change it.
