Why is location sharing not functioning in iOS 18.2.1 update?

Location sharing is not working in IOS 18.2.1

why has this taken so long to be fixed?! This new operating system “upgrade” is one of the worst Apple has ever released! I was going to buy a new iPhone and will not be buying any more new apple products until they show me they are not just another, more expensive version of Microsoft.

If location sharing isn't working on your iPhone with iOS 18.2.1, you can try these steps:

  • Check location services: Make sure location services are turned on for both you and the person you're sharing your location with:

    1. Go to Settings
    2. Select Privacy & Security
    3. Select Location Services
    4. Check that Find My is turned on

  • Restart your iPhone: Restarting your phone can fix minor software glitches that might occur after an update:
    1. Press and hold the side button and either volume button until the slider appears
    2. Drag the slider to turn off your iPhone
    3. Press and hold the side button again until the Apple logo appears

  • Check Apple servers: Check the status of Apple servers on the official System Status page

  • Check your network connection: Location sharing requires a strong internet connection
