Face ID not working on iPhone after iOS 18.2.1 update
I just requested OS 18.2.1 be uploaded tonight. Face id gone. Suddenly I'm unable to use face id. It was suggested I turn off content restrictions under screen time. They were already off.
Using diagnostics available in iOS 14.6 or later, Apple has detected an issue with your TrueDepth camera that might cause it to not function as expected. The TrueDepth camera contains lasers, which might be disabled for safety reasons if the device malfunctions or is damaged. This won't prevent you from using your iPhone or iPad, but until your iPhone or iPad is updated or serviced, you might not be able to use Face ID, Animoji, Memoji, and some other features that use the front camera.
Are you saying your Face ID is not working or it’s not showing up in Settings?
There could be two reasons for Face ID not showing up, you either have screen time restrictions, which we have crossed out. Or you have an IT administrator that manages your iPhone and is not allowing Face ID.
If Face ID is not working, there may be something wrong with your TrueDepth camera. Please view the following articles. ⇢
