Voice to Text fails to spell my name correctly on iPhone

When i push to dictate speach for a text message, its common when sending a text to a new person, or someone whom might not have your contact to start with "Hey it's Erik" I say that and it types "Hey it's Eric"This is a major problem. It's 2025 we have Apple intelligence and it still doesn't understand when I'm dictating a simple common statement of who I am, that it should be able to spell my name. My daughter has the same issue with her nickname Sami not Sammi which is how it spells it. I shouldn't have to go in to explain who I am or set up text corrections. It should recognize a statement like "It's ___ " as a it's the **** owner of the phone and I can use the spelling of his contact info to type his name correctly. I've tryed to use the keyboard auto correct, doesn't work, I shouldn't have to tell siri who I am, it's my contact info. What the **** is up. I'm so frustrated after 18 years of using iphones it still doesn't know how to type my **** name.

Choose the correct language where the name is used correclty.

Add a keyboard of the desired language and if the language is supported for dictation then dictation language is automatically added under Settings > General > > Keyboard > Dictation Language

There isn't a strict language division between "Charli" and "Charlie." Both spellings are primarily used in English.

  • Charlie: This is the more common spelling, traditionally used as a masculine name or a nickname for Charles. However, it's becoming increasingly popular as a unisex name.
  • Charli: This is a less common variation, often seen as a more feminine or creative spelling of "Charlie." It can also be a nickname for Charlotte or Charlene.

While some sources suggest a German origin for "Charli," it's not widely recognized and both spellings are considered part of the English language.

So Apple removed my previous response saying "We’ve removed your post Voice to Text fails to spell my name correctly on iPhone because it contained either feedback or a feature request that was not constructive." When they are wrong, it is constructive and it was only their opinion that is wasn't.

I had simply stated, after thanking the man for his response, and saying that changing dictation language doesn't help me as there are several ways to spell Erik in english. According to Google, Erick, Erik, Eriq, Erique, and Eirik just in english.

Apple uses predictive modeling to prepopulate Text, Apple needs to hear that this is an issue. Of all things, not being able to spell the owner of the phones name correctly can be a real bummer for people, me included. In stead of scolding me for bringing up this point, I was offering a suggestion that can and should be looked at. There must be a way for the phone, with all it's intelligence to know how to spell the owners name. Just sayin.

That said, does anyone have a legitimate workaround to solve this issue. If I ask Siri though my home pod, it know the difference between me and my spouse. When I ask siri on my phone, it says my name, but if I ask it to spell my name it says you can do that in contacts, yet it shows my contact when it tells me. I ask it to spell Erik and it spell Eric. Now Apple Please don't take this down, People are really frustrated over their names being misspelled. Either post a solution or post that your working on solving this issue for the millions of people who deal with this issue. PLEASE.

Sincerly,

SUPER FRUSTRATED APPLE FAN
