Changes have been made to a shared calendar to delete past events. I am currently being asked in the app to ok the deletions.
I need to save these past events and do not want to accept the changes.
How do I save them?
And, there are many dates involved, how would I refuse all changes?

There’s no means to do any of that.
Another authorized user with read-write access has deleted the information, and you’re now getting a change notification.
You can re-configure shared calendars to have read-only or read-write for each invited user.
You might also be able to restore an iCloud-based calendar from prior to the deletion, as an alternative:
Thank you for your help but the restored calendar - even though I am using a saved calendar from before the deletion - does not include the deleted events.
Is there another way to make this work?

Re-read the first response by MrHoffman.
The notifications are advisory and are not seeking your permission. The "OK" you see is to dismiss the notification.
So to confirm, you picked a calendar to restore from before the deletion occurred?

Curiously, after considerable delay - over 24 hours - the deleted events have been restored to the calendar. Thank you for your help MrHoffman
