Why does Apple Podcasts app take so long to load?

Why does Apple Podcasts app take so long to load and then takes even longer once I'm in the app even when I'm on Wifi? I have seen this problem complained about before but Apple then closes the complaint. I can only assume so people can't keep complaining.

Why does the app even need to be reaching out to the internet? That's where I think a lot of the problem is. If I'm trying to go to my already downloaded podcasts it still tries to reach out to the internet. What if I don't have service? I usually download podcasts specifically because I know I won't have service and the app is basically useless!
