How to map my MPE keyboard (Seaboard) to different instruments in Garageband iOS?

Good morning!

I'm new (color me green!) to Garageband, iOS, MIDI, MPE, Roli Seaboard, synths. Ok. Ok. Pretty much everything in digital music. But I'm a pro when it comes to using Netflix! Yay.

For the last week, I've been trying to figure out if I can map (keymap/split) my keyboard to play different instruments. For example, I want to play a flute using the first two octaves on my MIDI/MPE keyboard. And play a cello with the last two octaves on my keyboard.

Here's a screenshot from a YouTube video of what I mean.

Multiple instruments mapped onto a single keyboard.

First of all, is it possible? Second, how? If not, can I get some kind of plugin in Garageband or with my Seaboard to be able to keymap?

Finally, if Garageband can't do it, can someone suggest something for iOS that does? Free, powerful, lots of sounds, etc (Garageband-ish) would be great!

Thank you for your time and efforts in my musical journey. (Which so far is just walking in a small circle in the middle of the dining room. Until dinner.)

Cheers!

Good morning again!

Whoa! It's so quiet in here you can hear a pixel drop.

Which is heartbreaking. I'd love to be able to use Garageband on my iPad with my Seaboard and Audio Modeling SWAM instruments. The instruments work great. Yay! And the keyboard also.

However, I have this one showstopper. I want to map multiple instruments to one keyboard. I've added a photo and a youtube video link into my original post.

I'm not sure if what I want to do is possible or not. The silence after 2 days seems to indicate:

  1. I suck at posting.
  2. It can't be done.
  3. Everyone is currently having more fun than they would be just responding to this post.
  4. My internet is suddenly only mono-directional. Outbound.

What if I made outrageous promises like: fame, fortune, power, tiramisu!

In any case, if you have some suggestions, time and heart for it, I would great appreciate any assistance. I don't want to drop Garageband. I think it's great.

Cheers!

Thank you Keith!

Wow. Level 7? 21,060 points? I don't know what that all means. But I can do the math (with my phone) between yours and my Level 1, 4 points. hahaha

Thank you for your replies. I really appreciate it and wish I could award you more points as it is very significant to me.

I wonder why Garageband would be quiet? It's free! It's great! It has tons of stuff in it. Oh. Maybe everyone is already an expert, except me. Not the first time...

Cheers,
