Different first page in a letter written on Mac.

How do I have a different first page in a letter written on Mac? I am used to putting my return address in a header on the first page, and in a header on the second and subsequent pages putting my name and the page number. There are no sections, it’s just one document.

In a word processing layout document (default), the first page is also a section. Additional pages are members of that section until you insert a new section. Presently, you have one document, one section, and multiple pages associated with that section.

To achieve a different first-page header, you would insert a new section, and in Page thumbnails, drag that new section icon before your existing section. Enter your first-page content in the header.

In the now second section, visit the Document > Section panel and deselect Match previous section. Your first section header is restricted to it, and you can now apply your name and page number to the second section header pages.

When text flows from one page to the next, it does so in the current section and does not flow from one section to the next.

Any body text that would appear on that first section page should end on it. If you wanted that text to appear to flow across sections, then any continuance of the first section's body text would need to be manually resumed on the first page of the second section. From there, it would flow to additional pages in that second section.
