iPhone model number discrepancies
The hardware model should be the phone model number correct? I have a 14 pro max but it says 15. What’s up with this?
also can this show if my phone has been rooted?

You have an iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Absolutely nothing useful at all in Analytics unless you have the special software and training to read and interpret the
results.

No, unless you have the special software and training required to use Analytics.
You have found the exact reason why analytics provide no useful information to the user. People end up reading them thinking they have been hacked when they see the hardware model number and jump to the conclusion that another device is on their network. No the hardware model is not going to match the model name of your phone and the iPhone 15,3 is your device.
Niel is correct. that is known as the model identifier and is not related to model name. You also have three other identifiers, Model Number, serial number and part number. There are various online resources that you can use to identify iPhones.
Go to Settings > [name on top], and scroll to the bottom of that page. This will show all devices signed into your account. Post a screenshot if you wish as long as it does not show personal details such as your Apple ID.
No. The hardware model needs to account for the iPhone SE and other ones which don't fit into the numeric sequence; iPhone15,3 is the correct one for an iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Also keep in mind, your iPhone analytics are only meant to be read and understood by Apple developers and trained as stated, not the ordinary consumer. You really shouldn't be looking at anything in the Analytics.
The hardware model ID does not have to match the model name. In the case of Macs, Apple has sometimes reused a single model ID for many different Macs from many different years!
Presumably the choice of IDs has some rhyme and reason with respect to the iOS or macOS system code that uses them, but I can’t guarantee even that.
Ok that’s good to know thank you. My subscriptions were showing different phones under purchases so I’m just trying to get to the bottom of it
