Apple TV 4K update issue for remote home operations

I currently have two homes. On high in the Idaho Mountains and the other in Southern California by the beach. We spend summers in the mountains and winters at the beach. This year I set up the Idaho home with the Apple home app and installed various devices and cameras to monitor the home. It was al working when I left. A few weeks later Apple did a major update on their IOS and my home system went down. I called Apple support and was told the only way to update the Apple TV 4k would be to go back to the house and use the remote to update the unit. Is there any way to configure the system so that in the future I can remotely update the Apple TV 4K or is Google the answer (the cheap google camera is still working).
