Pre-owned iPhone SE purchased locked to the owner

I purchased a SE from a guy. Now that I have it home it's saying that its iphone locked to the owner. I can't get hold of him Is there anyway to get it unlocked so i can use it?

The way to get it unlocked is get a hold of the guy and have him provide the Apple ID and Apple ID Password that was used to set up the phone.


Apple cannot help with this. The phone is useless until you have the log on credentials.


Better yet.....when you can get a hold of the guy, return the phone for a refund, since he probably has no idea what the correct log on might be.....because the phone is likely stolen.

If the previous owner parted with the phone willingly, he or she should have prepared it as outlined in:

Since the phone is Activation Locked and the seller disappeared, there's a good chance that the phone was stolen. You cannot unlock it, we cannot unlock it, and Apple will not unlock it.
