Can Spotlight Search be disabled on an iPhone?

Can spotlight search be disabled? It can be disabled when the phone is locked, but there is a glitch that allows you to use it. If you unlock the phone then swipe down to the Lock Screen and then swipe down again, it pulls up spotlight search. This is a huge problem for Parental Controls. It allows kids to do a google search that is untraceable. The search can also be cleared immediately after the search.

No, it's not possible to completely disable Spotlight Search on an iPhone, but you can reduce the amount of personal data it shows by disabling certain suggestions:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Navigate to Siri & Search
  3. Disable Suggestions in Search and Suggestions on Lock Screen

You can also choose which apps to include in Search:

  1. Go to Settings > Search
  2. Scroll down, tap an app, then turn Show App in Search on or off
