Pairing Airtag with iPhone 16 using Yahoo Apple ID

Hello,

Can someone please tell me how to fix this? I am trying to pair an airtag with my iPhone 16. It keeps saying it can't pair it because I don't have an Apple ID. When I got the phone, I create my Apple ID using my Yahoo email.

It doesn't take me to anything to create a new ID. It only shows me an article about what Apple IDs are used for.

I am signed into my phone through my yahoo Apple IS. What do I need to do? Please provide very detailed steps, because I only ever had Samsung Galaxy phone before getting this iPhone.
