Trying to retrieve music and playlists from Time Machine Back-up

I have a 2020 MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15.0. I do not have an Apple Music subscription. All of my music is purchased or imported from CDs. I have an Time Machine back-up on an external hard drive from my previous Mac that died. I am trying to restore my Music Library from that back-up. The other threads I have found refer to folders that I do not have (or cannot find). When I have tried to access the back-up directly from the hard-drive, a pop-up folder says that the application to open it is missing. Yet, I can see the Time Machine application in my list of apps. If I try to open with the Time Machine application, it is not accessible. Please help!
