iMessage not working for one iPhone user

I am unable to send a text using iMessage to my wife's iPhone 12 from my iPhone 12. It is forced to SMS. This is not true for anyone else's iPhone. I can send iMessage to all of them, including iPhone 12 users. I've tried deleting my wife's contact information and past texts. Nothing seems to work.

Sending as SMS instead of iMessage to one contact. During a conversation with my husband my messages mid way stopped sending as iMessage. Now they will not send as iMessage. I’ve tried a few things that were suggested here but they didn’t stick. It’s only with his contact as I can still send texts to other people. I tried to see if it was my service so I turned on WiFi calling etc. no dice. Any suggestions? Hopefully this isn’t a persistent problem like the “location can’t be added due to person not having the newest iOS” even though we both updated our phones while sitting next to eachother issues I’ve been having. edit: Solution was he restarted his phone as well.

imessage wont work for one specific person i have been texting my boyfriend regularly and now for whatever reason it won't let me, it is forcing me to send SMS texts. i can text everyone else with iMessage and his are coming through as iMessage but i cannot send them back. i have changed locations, restarted my phone 3 times, turned my internet on and off and updated my phone. what do i have to do to fix this?

iMessage-Android messaging - frustrated spouse Having some persistent challenges communicating with my wife across messaging systems. She is all-in with Apple (Mac and iPhone)….I have a Mac and iPad but use an Android phone. When I send her a text via my Android phone, her reply goes to my iMessage, and not back to my phone. What is the simplest fix for this? Is the problem with my contact information in her iPhone/iMessages or is there a fix at my end? (Aside from getting an iPhone). TIA

Addendum: My wife can send/receive iMessages to/from other iPhone users.... just as I can send/receive iMessages to/from other iPhone users. This problem seem to be specific to how our accounts/contacts interact?
