No Apple Music subscription - still need iTunes?

My computer needed to be restored after a disk crash. When I went to reinstall iTunes I found Apple's new apps for Music, syncing, etc...

I have my own mp3 library on my Windows 11 computer- I do NOT want to pay for an Apple Music subscription, or have Apple Music syncing (and messing with) my files. I do sync music to multiple iPod Touches, iPads, and my iPhone, and I use Airplay to access music from my stereo receiver. Also, the 5-star ratings for songs are VERY important to managing my music.

Will I be able to do everything I need to with Apple's new three apps for music? Will I be forced to subscribe to Apple Music. Will I still need iTunes?

Windows, Windows 10
